ADAPT 2020 Fun Run

April 25, 2020

A virtual, self directed, thrilling, experience

Bryson McCall Smith here again (Have you missed me?).

As I’ve explained before, the ADAPT Fun Run is an action packed 1 hour event to raise funds for disability rights.

As you’ve probably noticed, this years run occurs eight months before Christmas. It’s also an election year. What’s Santa going to do? Can he socially distance himself from the politicians & reindeer while safely delivering virus free toys world wide in a timely manner? Does he wash his hands each time before sliding down the chimney? I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the ADAPT Fun Run, but it’s been on my mind.

Again this year I’ll be running (actually, virtually, or otherwise) to raise funds for ADAPT of Texas (2012 Chronicle Best Champions for Equal Access award winner) & the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities (CTD), a statewide advocacy organization.

As usual, I’ll be limiting myself to one grueling lap in the one hour time period. My planned approximately ¼ mile route/lap will begin at 4210 Red River, proceed south to the pedestrian beacon at Park Blvd., cross street (safely), advance to 41 Street, & return. Since the Tokyo Olympics have been postponed, what else do you have to support & root for?

I’m requesting that my 1,000,000 adoring fans pledge $20.20 each per lap in honor of leap year (Remember, I’m limiting myself to one lap.).

Sincerely,
Bryson McCall Smith
