One in five Americans is disabled. You can ensure they live in freedom.
On September 29th, 2017, I did one of the scariest things I've ever done: I voluntarily got arrested fighting for my rights. I was one of nearly 200 people arrested protesting the Graham-Cassidy bill, yet another attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act. I couldn't know for sure that the police would not be rough with me, or that I would not spend the night in jail. All I knew was that a switch had flipped inside me, and I was ready.
Over the last year, I have incredibly lucky to work for the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL), which works closely with ADAPT towards a common goal of community living for all people. But fighting for disability rights isn't cheap, and that's where you come in.
I have volunteered to join in the ADAPT FUN*RUN for Disability Rights to support the work of NCIL and ADAPT. I will roll my way around Upper Senate Park, Constitution and 1st Street on 05/13/2018 until I complete 25 or so laps. You might even see me get on my feet :)
I would appreciate your support as a sponsor. Please select the sponsor button above and make a generous pledge for each lap, or a flat donation. Remember, your donation is tax deductible.
